As mentioned above Jamey had two issues. 1. He wanted to address the slower growth of his account. 2. He wanted to increase engagement from his existing audience. Our strategy to address these concerns involved several minor tweaks in approach. To address the slower growth first, using some of our favorite software, we came up with a comprehensive list of new hashtags and use cases. Then, using another research app, we developed an influence list. By using the proper hashtags and sharing the post with the proper people in the industry, Jamey was able to increase new users. To address existing engagement, we decided to switch all images on his Instagram feed to a new aspect ratio better optimized for mobile. This made his images stand out more amongst all the noise on followers’ feeds and grab their attention. We also recommended a newsletter strategy that incorporated opt-in freebies that could be used to attract new and existing followers. Then he could use the newsletter platform to promote participation on his other media. Since these minor adjustments, his engagement has risen over 25%.
